This force of nature has been used as a musical device in many styles and doesn't lose its effectiveness. Repetition is known to be very convincing and enticing. Providing multiple variations as the repetition unfolds is where the additional interest lies. It makes the base repetion seem…well.. …less repetitious.

The piece follows styles that have relied on this technique: African rhythms, Afro-Cuban, Latin, electro-funk, progressive jazz, and the funk-disco world are all touched upon using overlapping motifs that link together.
